Free ways to level up your Tournament Poker Game

No paywall required: hand analysis, solver theory, live sessions, and inside-the-ropes strategy are all available for the price of a YouTube account.

Poker’s best study material no longer sits exclusively behind a subscription. Between hand-breakdown channels, solver-based training software, and produced shows, a player can build a serious study routine without spending a cent. Here are the four most talked-about free resources to up your tournament poker game.

Jonathan Little’s YouTube Channel

Jonathan Little Wins $25K Finale to be Crowned 2024 PokerGO Cup Champion | PGT

Jonathan Little, a two-time World Poker Tour champion with more than $9 million in live tournament earnings, runs a YouTube channel under the handle @PokerCoaching. His channel offers hand breakdowns pulled from televised streams where Little narrates the reasoning behind big folds, calls, and bluffs from players including Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, and Doug Polk, then explains what he would do differently. The channel also carries free lessons pulled from his paid Master the Fundamentals course, including a full breakdown of profitable preflop strategy. Little has coached poker for 20 years and written 14 strategy books, and the channel largely funnels viewers toward his subscription site, PokerCoaching.com, though the free library alone runs deep enough to study for months.

GTO Wizard’s Free Tier

GTOWizard Review: Is It Worth Using for GTO Training?

GTO Wizard has become the most widely used solver-based training platform in poker, and creating an account costs nothing. A free login includes 100 preflop solutions, one postflop solution, and ten practice hands in each training mode per day, on top of a full set of free preflop charts covering opens, three-bets, and calls by position. That is enough to build a genuine daily drilling habit before ever upgrading.

“Inside the Mind of a Pro”

Inside the Mind of a Pro @ 2025 WSOP EP25 (Leo Margets)

Produced by the European operator Winamax, “Inside the Mind of a Pro” follows the company’s sponsored players through major tournaments, mostly the WSOP Main Event, with first-person narration explaining what each player is thinking hand by hand. Episodes run about 40 minutes and have followed players including Gus Hansen, Adrian Mateos, Davidi Kitai, and Leo Margets, whose deep run through the 2025 WSOP Main Event carried the season past its twentieth episode. It streams free on the Winamax Europe YouTube channel. The format has proven influential in its own right: Triton Poker ambassador Mario Mosböck told poker.org that watching the series directly inspired him to launch his own first-person strategy show in late 2025.

Watching Old Streams

A less structured but still valuable study method is simply watching full sessions play out. YouTube offers an extensive selection of high quality streams of the biggest tournaments around the world .PokerStars’ own YouTube channel have complete tournament streams and highlight packages from tours including the European Poker Tour. Watching a full session instead of an edited breakdown shows how a player actually times decisions and sizes bets across hours of play, not only in the handful of spots chosen for a highlight reel.

The Bottom Line

None of these four options costs anything to access, and together they cover different corners of a study routine: hand-by-hand analysis from Little, solver-backed theory from GTO Wizard, unscripted real-time decisions from streamed sessions, and tournament-level strategic narrative from Winamax’s series. For a player unsure where to start, that range is the useful part. Free poker study does not have to mean second-rate study.
